Rapid Response - Rope Access Multi-disciplined NDT Technician (m/f/d)

Location: Aberdeen

The main purpose of this role is to be part of an elite group of highly experienced and motivated technicians who can be relied upon to act as ambassadors for the delivery of NDT scopes across Europe and further afield. The technician shall undertake NDT Inspection work to the highest quality and safety standards, and in full accordance with Bilfinger procedures and standards for a variety of clients in various sectors including Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Wind and for R&D projects.The main purpose of this role is to be part of an elite group of highly experienced and motivated technicians who can be relied upon to act as ambassadors for the delivery of NDT scopes across Europe and further afield. The technician shall undertake NDT Inspection work to the highest quality and safety standards, and in full accordance with Bilfinger procedures and standards for a variety of clients in various sectors including Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Wind and for R&D projects.

 

TASKS:

  • Ensure all inspection operations are carried out with respect to HSEQ, in accordance with the TMS and / or client management systems. Maintain a positive safety culture by encouraging all team members to participate in and adhere to permits, risk assessments and safety procedures.
  • Perform conventional and rope access activities as determined by the Management Team, Project Engineer, local supervision, client work pack, specification or other instruction.
  • Support ANDT and third party vendor inspection workscopes
  • Translate NDT codes, standards, specifications, and procedures into NDT instructions adapted to actual working conditions.
  • Ensure all work is reported correctly on NDT reports in accordance with procedure or work pack requirements;
  • Report NDT results accurately using current versions of controlled documents.
  • Prepare and supply supporting data to evidence reports and findings.
  • Define and record the inspection limitations of the testing method(s) per site conditions and application.
  • Set up, function check and verify equipment settings as per company procedures and keep records.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures.
  • Engage with the relevant Technical Manager(s) where anomalies are found and ensure solutions to inspection challenges are explored and overcome for our Clients     
  • Play an active part in the team; uphold the team ethos of knowledge sharing by mentoring fellow members, and sharing opportunities for improvement to achieve agreed targets as a team.
  • Carry out technical audits / peer reviews of site NDT and Inspection work, reporting any non-conformances and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Attend pre-mobilisation and de-mobilisation meetings as per requests from Project Team.
  • Support on-going R&D into new innovative techniques and technology

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant and proven site experience is essential.
  • Proficient report writer
  • IRATA (L1, L2 or L3)
  • Off-Shore Certification
  • PCN L2 (or equivalent) Radiography and Radiation Protection Supervisor 
  • Qualified and experienced in at least 3 other conventional NDT techniques 
  • Qualified and experienced in any of the following is desirable;
  • API 510/570/653 / Plant Inspection (ASME/CSWIP) qualification
  • EEMUA 159 Tank Assessor
  • GWO / Leg Entry Competence / CSE / are desirable
