Key Activities

  • Develop and maintain asset specific reliability improvement roadmaps and monitor progress against each to asset management
  • Actively support an organisational culture of high reliability to maintain the highest level of asset reliability and integrity.
  • Review Safety and Production Critical Systems & Equipment status to identify equipment “bad actors” on each installation and implement equipment improvement programmes.
  • Maintain working relationships with offshore and onshore production operations, technical authorities, verification engineers and discipline engineers and others as appropriate
  • Facilitate root cause analysis on critical safety and production equipment to identify and implement short and long term remedial actions to prevent repeat failures.
  • Maintain and implement a root cause analysis system for analysing critical equipment failures. Ensure key personnel have the knowledge and expertise to effectively utilise the system.
  • Work with CMMS (Maximo) system owners to ensure system integrity is maintained and supports high reliability culture
  • Review requests to amend CMMS maintenance plans, in particular changes to Safety or Production Critical equipment. Changes to SECE plans to be endorsed clients TA’s.
  • Act as focal point for equipment condition monitoring and analysis, ensuring that changes in condition are addressed in timely manner.

  • Attend, where required, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for new and refurbished equipment
  • Develop and maintain agreed suite of reliability metrics to present to asset leadership that demonstrates development of reliability program, eg ‘Bad Actors’, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Asset Uptime, etc.
  • Build and maintain Asset Reliability Availability Model (RAM) for each asset, identifying critical asset reliability ‘pinch points’
  • Review request to defer maintenance on safety and production critical systems to identify potential risk or opportunities to improve maintenance activities
  • Review Operational Risk Assessments (ORA) on safety or production critical systems to ensure potential integrity barrier risk is minimised to ALARP status
  • Work with relevant interfaces to ensure that input to and changes to IAP activities are provided in a timely manner and that consequences are mitigated.
  • Provide technical input to the facility risk registers. Issue identification and prioritisation.
  • Ensure that contracts for the provision of Reliability Engineering support activities are effectively managed.
