Trainee Shipping Coordinator 

Location: Aberdeen

MAIN PURPOSE

 

To ensure the effective delivery of shipping within the Plant and Logistics Department and is required to carry out his/her identified job tasks in a safe, diligent and efficient manner as specified within this job description and also as directed by the Logistics Operations Manager.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure compliance with regards health and safety and that a safe working environment is achieved and maintained.
  • Liaise with ATR and purchasing departments on a daily basis and assist where possible.
  • To ensure customer orders are shipped accurately, within the requested timescales, utilising the correct and relevant documentation to the desired location.
  • To ensure yard and warehouse activities are effectively controlled, which includes effective container controls.
  • To ensure effective communications are achieved with internal customers and relationships built up to deliver customer satisfaction.
  • To fulfil an active role as part of the Plant and Equipment Logistics leadership team.
  • Any other duties as designated by the logistics operations manager or as Bilfinger Salamis’ business dictates.


Experience & Qualifications
 
•    Previous experience in a similar role
•    SAP experience
•    Dangerous Goods by Sea Certificate- (preferred)
•    Forklift certificates - (preferred)
•    ADR regulations – Consigners - (preferred)
•    Good attention to detail
•    Good organisational skills
•    Ability to problem solve
•    Computer Literate
•    Good communication skills
