Head of Marketing and Communications

MAIN PURPOSE:

 

The Head of Communications and Marketing is responsible for leading the strategic communications and marketing for Bilfinger UK and operational delivery of activities in support of the growth plans in the energy markets. The role report directly to the Strategic Development Director but also works closely with the Executive management, senior leadership team and corporate function at Group headquarters as well as across the business operating units to ensure all marketing and communication requirements are being met.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Formulate marketing and communications strategy for both internal and external audiences
  • Main point of contact within Bilfinger UK for all marketing and communications activity
  • Set direction and manage a small communications, marketing and graphic design team , ensuring quality and timely output
  • Demonstrate a commitment to self-development and developing team members, building long-term staff capability and competency in team.
  • Develops team members to ensure succession and key skills are in place.
  • Controls all marketing activity relating to existing and new services.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of all marketing/communication activity
  • Manages and delivers brand to ensure consistent communication of Bilfinger UK’s mission and values and ensures that the integrity of the brand is maintained and promoted at all times
  • Produce compelling strategic communications and events that demonstrate value for money
  • Manages and controls marketing costs to budget
  • Develops, co-ordinates and communicates propositions in support of Bilfinger UK strategy
  • Grow the Bilfinger UK brand into one strong brand in the new energy market
  • Manage relationship with nominated PR agency.
  • Manages and co-ordinates marketing campaigns.
  • Generate new leads and nurture them for the sales pipeline
  • Provide support for new business through production of material and research.
  • Manages and controls all social media activity with Bilfinger UK
  • Identify and effectively utilise a range of channels to deliver successful results, including direct and digital marketing.
  • Provides accurate and timely management reporting as required to demonstrate key business metrics are being achieved
  • Manages event strategy for Bilfinger UK
  • Lead communications role for emergency response exercises or events that arise.
  • Act as company  lead for Charitable Donations and Sponsorships
  • Engage with the Bilfinger Group  Corporate Communications Team to ensure global alignment of strategic communications
  • Provides accurate and timely management reporting as required to demonstrate key business metrics are being achieved
  • Manages event strategy for Bilfinger UK

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Proven track record in development and delivery of strategic communications and marketing.
  • Experience in crisis communications
  • Media relations experience
  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or similar field
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
  • Ability to manage a number of different key projects and deliver them all on budget and on time
  • Ability to influence senior leaders
