Mechanical Superintendent (Millwright)

Bilfinger is currently seeking Mechanical Superintendents (Millwright)

 

Position Summary:

 

Schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities.  May involve supervising one or more trade groups (Pipefitters, Boilermakers, Millwrights, etc.) working in particular construction discipline.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Currently possess the skillset and knowledge related to the millwright trade in order to plan and supervise craft activities includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, work schedule, and provide necessary supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate assigned work different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
  • Liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Assist in resolving construction issues (productivity, work interfaces, delays, etc.) as required.
  • Assist in maintaining labor relations communications, resolving disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc.
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Interface with other departments (i.e., HSE, Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering, Client Personnel) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum (8) years of construction experience in a heavy industrial industry, with a min of (3) of those years in a supervisory role. NCCER certification is preferred.
  • Educational and experience requirements: Four-year engineering degree in construction project management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential.
