Lead Scheduler 

Location: Redcar

Directly responsible for leading the scheduling service associated with multidisciplinary maintenance work, to be delivered by the L2 Contracted Team and any 3rd Party Contractors for all Run and Maintain (R&M) activities. The Lead Scheduler role primarily entails the construction of a workable and deliverable 12 week lookahead schedule from associated Area Schedules, via a recognised resource allocation platform. The Lead Scheduler is responsible for the allocation of work to the Field Planners (by delegation) associated with their area and takes ownership of the scheduling function. 

 

Key Activities

  • Duties included within this role, but not limited to the following (Additional tasks may be given to the Lead Scheduler at the discretion of the MDM or CM, if deemed appropriate):
  • Responsible for producing the SABIC Teesside 12 week lookahead schedule
  • Identifying and evaluating associated schedule, resource conflicts & issues and highlighting them to the Area Delivery Teams and Contract Manager
  • Generate resource histograms to identify and control fixed FTE across Teesside and share with all stakeholders
  • Own, direct and manage Area Schedulers in a functional capacity
  • Manage the Field Planners in their given area by delegation to Area Schedulers.
  • Execute the Lead Scheduler role iaw the Client’s workflow management process – MEMS 06.04
  • Utilise the Client’s CMMS (SAP) for the electronic management of Work Orders as required
  • Develop and issue area reports as requested by the Area Lead, MDM or CM
  • Deputise for the Area Schedulers and Events/MEI Scheduler as/when required
  • Compile, Monitor and issue resource availability reports to aid with control of resource allocation
  • Chair and drive Weekly Scheduling Meetings as required
  • Monitor the management and housekeeping of Primavera as to ensure proper alignment to SAP (Activity Codes and Key Dates etc…)
  • Provide periodic activity reports for scheduling progress
  • Engage in internal audit programmes in support of the Contract
  • Ability to work on challenging timelines and have the agility to readily switch focus when priorities change
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to the role through the identification of improvement opportunities
  • Compile KPI reports for Plan Attainment & Loss Accounting
  • Allocate and co-ordinate resource movements within the organisation (Blue Collar)
  • Create, Maintain & Issue Dashboard Reports on a weekly basis.
  • Compile and submit 2 Weekly Maintenance Schedule One Plan and supporting documentation into CEMAR for approval by the Client
  • Coach & Mentor to develop personnel capabilities

 

Experience

  • Experience of work within the Process, Oil & Gas, Plant or Power Generation industries
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a supervisory/self-directed role.
  • Experience with process plant including maintenance delivery.
  • Proactive and flexible work approach.
  • Worked within performance contracts before.
  • IT use (Microsoft Office package), and SAP 
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Primavera P6

Qualifications
Preferred

  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • ISOH Managing Safety Cert
  • IT Training – Microsoft, P6 & SAP

Essential

  • Qualified to Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) NVQ Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument-Level 3 – trade skill dependant on Field Planner position, M or E&I
