Mechanical Lead Technician 

Location: Redcar

Duties included within this role, but not limited to the following (Additional tasks may be given to the Area Lead at the discretion of the Maintenance Manager, if deemed appropriate):

 

  • Support Area Lead in setting the styles and standards for the delivery of HSE Performance Excellence
  • Serve as the focal point for the day to day delivery of maintenance activities:
  • Closely interfacing with key client stake holders (Client Maintenance Managers and Engineers) to ensure delivery against the Schedule and / or maintenance  requirements
  • Closely interfacing with Bilfinger stake holders to ensure delivery against the Schedule and / or maintenance  requirements
  • Ensure the workforce is adequately briefed with regard to work plans, procedures and practices
  • Highlighting and reporting any issues that affect schedule delivery on a daily basis
  • Managing any change to delivery schedule – POP / CoWS / Sub-Order and providing relevant documented evidence (CVI / POP / OT forms)
  • Ensuring robust forward organisation of permitry, materials, and manpower to eliminate non-productive time
  • Monitoring and driving of productivity levels without any detriment to any Health and Safety requirements
  • Driving the use of alternative access in order to improve productivity and minimise any manual handling risk
  • Ensure scaffold quality is in-line with current legislative requirements
  • Operate and build relationships with the leadership team, direct reports and general workforce, include client, sub-contracting and vendors
  • Reviews work plans and schedules to enable efficient co-ordination of work activities.
  • Ensure all work is executed in line with relevant technical standards (Client and/or BUK): Bilfinger CMS, CDM regulations, SABIC Management Procedures (MPs) and MEMS 06.04 Asset Maintenance Workflow Process (AMWP)
  • Challenge the norm and drive safety and efficiency in the field.
  • Consult with management or the safety team on any issues relating to HSEQ.                
  • Arranges and coordinates ‘call out’ requirements within their Area
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to the role through the identification of improvement opportunities
  • Lead the delivery of L1 discipline work to ensure safe cost effective delivery
  • Provide first line Technical Support and the ability to autonomously resolve unexpected problems (spares required, technical assistance etc.)
  • Area-Lead Stand-in duties

  • Manage small packages of to support the Area Lead
  • Provide ownership of the monthly discipline routines
  • Work with Area lead to develop and train other technician and establish JQP’s.
  • Liaise with Client Operations to manage work delivery
  • Ownership of work scope lifecycle - permit requests to SAP completion and notification closure
  • Where required provide task ownership, for Bilfinger and third party contractors.
  • Manage timesheet data inputting for discipline team
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all ongoing trade specific works and ability to relay information and progress to Area LEad
  • Prioritization of tasks and ability to strategically direct resource to maximize productivity
  • Thorough understanding and deployment of business escalation process (Inc, emergency, safety, quality and work delivery)
  • Custodian of safety standards within department
  • Provide experienced based training to technician team
