Human Resources Generalist - Reston, VA 

Location: Reston, Virginia

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent preferred, not required
  • 4+ years of general Human Resources experience required
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and wage/hour laws
  • Ability to ensure privacy/confidentiality of all employee information as required
  • Knowledge of benefits program administration
  • Must be very organized and detail oriented
  • Able to work independently

 

 

 

Scope of Responsibility:

 

The position will have multiple areas of responsibility.  The primary area is the administration of various HR processes and procedures for various groups and locations. Responsible for benefits administration with a focus on accuracy and employee customer service.  

 

 

 

Position Duties:

 

  • Pre-employment and New Hire Administration Process
  • E-Verify Compliance
  • Benefit Administration, to include enrollments, terminations, qualifying events, and billing
  • Answer employee benefit questions and resolving issues
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Respond to various employee inquiries and assist in lower level employee relations issues
  • Respond to employment verifications from various sources 
  • Assist in the administration of the annual performance appraisal and salary review process including notification of employees via letter
  • Stay current with all federal and state requirements to remain compliant with employment laws and regulations
  • Data entry into various HR systems
  • Gather data and create HR reports
  • Support Internal and External Audit needs
  • Field visits to assist with employee matters
  • Other Human Resource Department duties as necessary
  • Occasional travel may be required
