Site Safety Manager

 

Bilfinger Inc., known as a leading one-stop shop provider for complex industrial services is seeking Safety Manager at our Savannah, GA location. This position requires a self-motivated individual to lead the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety Plan.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement corporate and client HS&E policies and programs for the site
  • Advise, coach and lead employees and other contractors to provide an excellent safety culture
  • Conduct orientations, educate, and train employees on safe practices, company policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety and other HS&E topics
  • Prepare educational seminars and training on a regular basis
  • Lead overall site Safety Governance for the client on all site construction work through interface with staff, craft, subcontractors, client managed contractors, CM’s, client and safety professionals
  • Review existing policies and procedures and develop improvements as needed
  • Implement innovative HS&E programs and strategies in the areas of behavior-based safety, auditing for compliance, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, high-impact training, and compliance support
  • Provide coaching and support to all site construction field operations
  • Conduct risk assessment & safety inspections of work areas and enforce policies
  • Track, analyze and report safety audit and leading indicators data in tabular and graphical formats and recommend focus areas based on the analysis
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations identifying root causes and corrective actions
  • Review and input on construction work plans with management, supervision and contractors
  • Train, manage and guide your staff
  • Maintain a PDCA and develop 30 day, 90 day, 1 year plans with improvement actions
  • Lead the craft safety committee
  • Develop and manage the site recognition and rewards programs
  • Lead diverse teams of site safety leaders and client representatives
  • Represent the Bilfinger Construction Management Organization at site contractor/visitor mtgs

 

Requirements

 

  • 10 years of experience as a Safety Manager or similar role
  • Ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of legislation and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or work practices
  • 5 years of experience in producing reports
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent team leader and facilitator
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • OSHA 30 certification or better safety and health training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of large crowds
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, and ladders or scaffolds throughout diverse work environments as required by business demands
