Engineering Project Manager (Gas Transmission)

Job description
•    Together with your project team you manage engineering projects
•    These projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Design, including commissioning support, as part of an EPC project
•    The focus of this role will be managing projects in the Gas Transmission, specifically compression, industry.
•    You are responsible to manage and complete your projects within budget and planning. This includes change control and inter-discipline consistency of the design
•    A project is only completed after the last invoice has been paid by the client
•    Depending on size and complexity you may manage one project or a portfolio of projects
•    Projects can be stand-alone engineering projects, where you are Bilfinger’s focal point in front of the client, but your project can also be the engineering scope of a Bilfinger EPC project. 
•    In addition to managing the Engineering delivery, you will also manage the G35 design review, approval and appraisal process.
•    Disciplines under your management will be: E&I, Automation, Mechanical and Civil


Experience & Qualifications
If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you
•    Degree / HND / HNC standard in a relevant Engineering discipline and preferably be of Chartered Engineer Status although Incorporated Engineers may be accepted.  
•    Relevant experience of project management in design and construction of onshore UK compressor stations and shall be fully conversant with the requirements of gas industry standards
•    Candidates must be able to demonstrate specialist technical knowledge and experience of successful project design on UK Transmission System and a detailed understanding of appropriate legislative requirements, specifically the G35 and FPSA process. A demonstrable understanding of the influence of CDM and SHEQ on the design process including Risk Management and Records compilation.
•    Active G35 status (preferred)
•    E&I background with a sound understanding of Automation would be an advantage. However, we welcome candidates from any disciplines
•    Sound multidiscipline engineering knowledge
•    Result oriented. You are only satisfied if you complete a project profitably, all invoices are paid, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied Bilfinger’s performance
•    You plan and organize your project before you allow your team to start spending hours. You have a ‘one time right’ mentality
•    You delegate to your project team, but at the same time you know exactly what is going on in your projects and intervene if required
•    You implement a solid change control procedure in your projects, and with your entrepreneurial and negotiation skills you come to a solution that is good for both the client and Bilfinger
