The Role:

The Quality Advisor will be responsible for providing quality support to the projects including quality assurance, quality control, and audit process whilst supporting day to day operations regarding to quality awareness and Document control/system resources required to provide effective support to the Projects.

You will ensure that quality systems are established / managed across the projects & communicated to stakeholders, whilst proactively promoting ‘right first time’ methodology across the business to reduce non-conformances within the project environment. You will collaboratively work with HSE team within the projects to deliver safety awareness at site level and apply quality techniques to non-conformances with a view to prevent further reoccurrences across project and the wider business.

 

Key Activities:

Responsible for the provision of Quality related advice and guidance to the Project

  • To ensure full utilisation of internal reporting systems to capture all quality related data, such as audit findings, non-conformities, observations, improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for conducting internal & external audits, in accordance with the published project audit programme, and produce reports in relation to audit outcomes.
  • Prepare and review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) and supporting QA documentation
  • Responsible for liaising with Project Quality Control inspectors to provide assurance that all Hold Points/ Witness Points are met in a compliant manner.
  • Responsible for validating the implementation and effectiveness of Project corrective actions resulting from any NC or internal/ external audits.
  • To promote a Right first time approach to quality and Safety.
  • Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against agreed KPIs
  • Oversee quality operations to ensure all documentation and specifications are adhered to.
  • Ensure subcontractors / Suppliers conform to the company and project requirements. 
  • Liaise with all relevant Project stakeholders in relation to the preparation and submission of Project quality requirements and supporting documentation.
  • Implementation of quality activities at various sites
  • Be able to read, understand and implement project contractual requirements regarding to Quality.  
  • Attend project related meetings
  • Liaise with procurement team regarding quality requirements at tendering stages.
  • Ensure the effectiveness and relevance of the work instructions and procedures, work
  • with the process owners to develop meaningful and useful (yet compliant) work
  • instructions and procedures
  • Liaise with Client’s QA departments to ensure transparency and open communication
  • Actively promote and encourage a Continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Any other process deemed to require a relevant Quality input

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Good Engineering and QA/QC background
  • CQI Membership or looking towards accreditation – Essential
  • Recognised and current Internal Auditor qualification – Essential
  • Must have a full understanding on how to deliver internal audits of management systems and be able to communicate outcomes.
  • Development of project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs etc) and review of supplier QA documentation.
  • Demonstrable, current knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in a regulated environment such as construction, petrochemical, aerospace etc
  • Problem Resolution-Must have exceptional skills to problem solving and have resolution tools and techniques and the ability to articulate their use in any given situation.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques
  • The ability to understand and interpret ISO Management System Standards, technical drawings and specifications is desirable.
  • Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - Essential
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Good understanding of ISO 45001 & 14001.
  • +5 years’ experience working in a highly regulated industry (petrochemical /Oil &
    • Gas/Aviation, Construction) 
  • Experience/qualification in one or more of the following special processes: NDT,
    • heat treatment, surface treatment, dimensional verification a distinct advantage.
  • Pipework, steelwork and insulation knowledge –Desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of related specifications (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO,
    • PED, etc.) Advantageous
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure;
  • Attention to detail.
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Travel to multiple sites
