Position: Fire and Life Safety Engineer

Location: Egypt

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: Minimum 5 years in Fire and Life Safety Design of Industrial Buildings, UAE Consultancy Experience preferable

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Carry out Preliminary design, Concept design, detailed engineering of all types of Loss prevention / Fire Fighting systems for Industrial, Commercial, Residential, power plants, onshore, offshore, tank farm, refinery projects, warehouse, substations buildings, ports etc.
• Design different types of fire protection systems such as automatic wet sprinkler system, Fire Fighting system, water spray deluge system (MVWSS & HVWSS), foam system, Hydrant system, HPCO2, FM-200, Inert gas suppression system, Kitchen hood system, etc.
• Prepare P&ID and PFD as per project requirement for Fire water system/ Deluge system/ Foam system/ Fire pumps /Fire Suppression System. Prepare hydraulic models, Fire Pump Sizing, Hydrant Network Design.
• Prepare MTO, Technical Submittals & Technical documents.
• Design F&G Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Prepare Cause and Effect Matrix
• Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and Electrical Engineers and any other design consultants.
• Carry out design checks of other Engineer’s design and design reviews, Carry out Vendor drawing reviews
• Develop, review technical documents, including system design, specifications, and drawings
• Develop solutions, design options, techno commercial comparisons
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, oversee project teams.
• Carry out technical analyses and feasibility studies
• Prepare detailed design, firefighting layouts, typical details
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
• Prepare of Design Reports, Basis of Design etc.
• Prepare engineering estimates, surveys, and designs
• Review shop drawings, review supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
• Review and resolve technical queries (TQ) and manage changes
• Provide technical guidance to address complex issues related to FLS systems
• Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, BIM Modellers, and Engineers

Skills

• Good knowledge of NFPA Standards, UAE Fire Code, DCD requirements
