Job Description for Mechanical Inspector

Job Purpose

QC Mechanical Inspector ensures mechanical components, systems, and processes meet quality, safety, and project standards through rigorous inspections, tests, and documentation. Key responsibilities include verifying compliance with specifications and codes, identifying and reporting non-conformances, and maintaining detailed records of findings and actions. The role requires proficiency with inspection tools and the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications.

Core responsibilities

• Inspection and testing: 

Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests on materials, equipment, and installation activities, including checking alignment, leveling, and functional completion. 

• Quality assurance: 

Ensure that all mechanical work, from incoming parts to final products, complies with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. 

• Documentation and reporting: 

Maintain accurate records of all inspections, test results, and any deviations or non-conformances. Issue non-conformance reports to the relevant supervisor when necessary. 

• Collaboration: 

Work with project teams, contractors, and production staff to address issues and ensure high-quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. 

• Blueprint and specification analysis: 

Interpret and verify measurements and other specifications against project drawings, product specifications, and quality documents. 

Skills Description

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least 7–8 years specifically in Site Inspection within a Consultancy or Supervision firm
