Job Description

Senior Wet Utility Design Engineer

Location: Egypt (Design Office)

Projects: UAE Infrastructure Projects

Experience: 8–12 Years

Industry: Infrastructure / Utilities / Engineering Consultancy

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Wet Utility Design Engineer to lead the design and coordination of wet utility systems for large-scale UAE infrastructure projects. The role involves delivering high-quality, authority-compliant designs for water, sewerage, stormwater, and irrigation networks while working from the Egypt design center.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Lead the design of wet utility systems including:
  • Potable water supply networks
  • Sewerage and wastewater systems
  • Stormwater drainage systems
  • Irrigation networks
• Prepare:
  • Hydraulic calculations and reports
  • Design drawings (plan & profiles)
  • Utility layouts and schematics

Hydraulic Modeling

• Perform hydraulic analysis using:
  • WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS
  • InfoWorks / SWMM (preferred)
• Ensure optimal pipe sizing, pressure management, and system efficiency

Standards & Authority Compliance (UAE)

• Ensure compliance with UAE authority standards such as:
  • Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT)
  • Dubai Municipality
  • ADDC
  • DEWA
• Coordinate with local authorities for design approvals

Project Coordination

• Interface with multidisciplinary teams (roads, structures, utilities, landscape)
• Coordinate with UAE-based clients and stakeholders
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings

Documentation & Deliverables

• Prepare and review:
  • Design basis reports
  • Utility NOCs documentation
  • BOQs and technical specifications
• Ensure timely submission of deliverables as per UAE project schedules

BIM & CAD

• Work with:
  • AutoCAD / Civil 3D
  • BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks preferred)
• Ensure clash-free coordinated models

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure designs meet:
  • International standards (AWWA, BS, ASTM)
  • UAE local regulations
• Conduct design checks and QA/QC reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master’s degree (preferred)

Experience Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in wet utilities design
• Strong experience in UAE infrastructure projects (mandatory)
• Experience working in engineering consultancy / design offices

Technical Skills

• Expertise in:
  • Water supply & sewer network design
  • Stormwater management systems
  • Hydraulic modeling software
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority regulations

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work with remote teams (Egypt–UAE coordination)
• Time management and deadline-oriented

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience working from offshore design centers (Egypt/India) for UAE projects
• Familiarity with authority submission processes in UAE
• Arabic language skills (advantage)
