Role Overview

We are seeking a Wet Utility Design Engineer to support the design and coordination of wet utility systems for UAE infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing engineering designs, hydraulic calculations, and authority-compliant deliverables while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Design wet utility networks including:
  • Potable water supply systems
  • Sewerage and wastewater networks
  • Stormwater drainage systems
  • Irrigation networks
• Prepare:
  • Plan & profile drawings
  • Utility layouts and cross-sections
  • Design calculations

Hydraulic Analysis

• Perform basic to intermediate hydraulic calculations
• Use tools such as:
  • WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS
  • SWMM (preferred)
• Assist in pipe sizing, flow analysis, and pressure calculations

Standards & UAE Authority Compliance

• Develop designs in accordance with UAE standards and guidelines:
  • Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT)
  • Dubai Municipality
  • ADDC
  • DEWA
• Assist in preparation of authority submission documents

Coordination

• Coordinate with:
  • Roads, drainage, structural, and landscape teams
• Support senior engineers in design reviews and client coordination
• Participate in internal and external meetings

CAD & BIM

• Prepare drawings using:
  • AutoCAD
  • Civil 3D
• Support BIM coordination using tools like Revit/Navisworks (if applicable)

Documentation

• Assist in preparing:
  • Design reports
  • BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
  • Technical specifications
• Maintain proper documentation and version control

Quality Assurance

• Follow QA/QC procedures for all deliverables
• Ensure compliance with project standards and timelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Experience Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in wet utility design
• Experience in UAE infrastructure projects (preferred)
• Consultancy/design office background is an advantage

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of:
  • Water supply and sewer network design
  • Stormwater drainage systems
• Familiarity with hydraulic modeling tools
• Basic understanding of UAE authority requirements

Soft Skills

• Good communication skills
• Team player with coordination ability
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working in offshore design centers (Egypt/India) for UAE projects
• Familiarity with authority submission processes
• Arabic language skills (plus)
