Job Title: Lead Piping Material Engineer 
Location: Qatar 
Experience: 15+ Years 
Industry: Oil & Gas (Onshore – FEED & Detailed Design) 

Job Summary 
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Piping Material Engineer with 15+ years of expertise in FEED and detailed design for onshore oil & gas projects. The candidate will lead piping material engineering activities, ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications, particularly for projects in Qatar. 

Key Responsibilities 
• Lead and manage piping material engineering activities for FEED and detailed design projects  
• Develop and review piping material specifications, datasheets, and standards 
• Prepare and review PMS (Piping Material Specification), valve specifications, and special item datasheets  
• Selection of piping materials based on process conditions, corrosion, temperature, and pressure requirements  
• Review and approve vendor documents, technical bids, and material submittals 
• Provide technical support to procurement, construction, and commissioning teams 
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, NACE, ISO, etc.)  
• Coordinate with process, piping layout, stress, and other disciplines 
• Handle technical queries (TQs), deviations, and material substitutions 
• Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and value engineering sessions 
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and ensure quality deliverables 

Software / Tools 
• SmartPlant Materials (SPMAT) / SAP (preferred) 
• MS Office 
• Familiarity with 3D model tools (E3D / SP3D / PDMS) is an advantage 

Qualification 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 
• Master’s degree is an added advantage 

Experience Requirements 
• 15+ years of experience in piping material engineering 
• Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Design projects 
• Extensive experience in onshore oil & gas projects 
• GCC / Qatar project experience preferred 

Skills & Competencies 
• Strong knowledge of piping materials, corrosion, and metallurgy 
• Expertise in international codes and standards 
• Leadership and team management capabilities 
• Strong vendor management and technical evaluation skills 
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities 

Preferred 
• Experience with QatarEnergy or major EPC contractors 
• Familiarity with client specifications and project execution in Qatar 
• Proven experience leading teams on large-scale projects
