The Site Procurement/Buyer is responsible for managing the on‑site procurement of materials, equipment, and services to support construction and project delivery activities at Hinkley Point C. This role ensures timely, cost‑effective, and compliant purchasing in accordance with project requirements, supply chain procedures, and nuclear governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, procure and expedite materials, tools, consumables and services required for site operations.
- Review requisitions for accuracy, ensuring correct specifications, quantities, and delivery dates.
- Obtain competitive quotations and evaluate supplier offers based on cost, quality, lead time, and compliance.
- Raise purchase orders in line with company procurement processes and contractual frameworks.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal site teams.
- Liaise with logistics, warehousing, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery and stock availability.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate delivery or quality issues.
- Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies, site procedures, and nuclear‑regulated purchasing controls.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and audit trails.
- Support material traceability and documentation requirements associated with high‑integrity systems.
- Assist with invoice reconciliation and resolving procurement‑related discrepancies.
- Support cost control by securing competitive pricing and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Review spend categories and support supply chain optimisation initiatives.
- Track and report procurement progress, risks, and priorities.
- Work closely with construction supervisors and planners to anticipate procurement needs.
