Job Description – Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer (FEED & Detailed Design)

Experience: 8–10 Years
Location: Saudi Arabia (KSA)
Industry: Engineering Consultancy / Oil & Gas / Industrial Projects

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer with strong FEED and Detailed Design exposure from an engineering consultancy background. The role involves delivering complete instrumentation and control engineering design packages for oil & gas and industrial projects in compliance with Saudi Aramco and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute FEED and Detailed Design activities for instrumentation & control systems

• Develop and review instrument index, I/O list, loop diagrams, and hook-up drawings

• Prepare and review control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, and narratives

• Develop P&ID instrumentation details and instrument data sheets

• Perform instrument sizing and selection (control valves, safety valves, transmitters)

• Prepare specifications and material requisitions for instruments and control systems

• Review vendor documents, technical bids, and FAT/SAT documentation

• Coordinate with Process, Electrical, Piping, and Mechanical disciplines

• Ensure compliance with IEC, ISA, API, and Saudi Aramco standards

• Support HAZOP, SIL studies, and design review workshops

• Provide engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Control / Electrical Engineering

• 8–10 years of experience in engineering consultancy

• Strong exposure to FEED & Detailed Design projects

• Experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Industrial projects

• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco / SABIC / SEC standards (preferred)

• Proficiency in SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI / INtools) / AutoCAD

• Working knowledge of DCS, PLC, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

Preferred Skills

• Experience on KSA or Middle East projects

• Strong interface and coordination skills

• Ability to manage multiple design packages independently

• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
