Role Purpose:
The role is responsible for providing expert support and guidance on the development and administration of compensation and benefit programs in the Region. Reporting to the Director HR & HSEQ, the role will take the lead in developing an appropriate pay and compensation philosophy for the region that aligns with Corporate and Region leadership objectives and budget.
Role & Responsibilities
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE:
- Maintains highest standards of Corporate governance & ensures all activities are performed ethically and in compliance with Company standards, relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
- Supervisors and Managers must demonstrate effective safety leadership for all Company staff, employees and any persons visiting them whilst on Company or client premises
QUALITY:
- Responsible for being familiar with Company Quality policies & procedures and to follow them at all times
- Reinforces importance of service quality at all times when engaging with employees
- Conducts audits of C&B programs to identify areas for improvement as well as ensuring consistency to philosophy
OPERATIONS:
- Identifies and evaluates opportunities for improving the Region’s C&B programs, remaining cost effective and generating a positive impact on the employee experience
- Manages the Company’s Short-Term Incentive program (STI) for the Region, ensuring clear communications and consistency in application across the entities
- Responsible for developing Region specific incentive programs as required, ensuring they are cost effective and deliver the value desired by the organization through clear and transparent performance measures
- Supports HRBP’s and internal stakeholders in developing compensation packages required for new roles being introduced to the Region
- Implements necessary salary benchmarking to validate the organisations’ compensation philosophy, ensuring fairness and competitiveness
- Develops a necessary job architecture approach in alignment with Corporate subject matter experts and programs
- Responsible for reporting on compensation including but not limited to annual report, monthly reports, and CSRD reporting as well as to any external government enquiries
- Responsible for administration of the Company’s 401k program including performance, costs, communications and regular negotiations as required
- Ensures compliance with State and Federal laws relation to employee C&B programs
FINANCIAL:
- Assists with the compensation & benefit planning to align with the annual budget, ensuring plans are in place to meet operational goals
- Develops a method to track increase in costs in benefits as well as increases in SG&A costs
- Negotiates with key Compensation & Benefit vendors
- Regularly investigates external market to ensure Company C&B elements are up to date and competitive including variable allowances
COMMUNICATION:
- Facilitates the development of presentations and other compensation & benefit material for key stakeholders across the Region and at Corporate
- Partners with HRBPs and leadership to communicate compensation policies and programs to employees
- Administers annual benefit communication programs
- Liaises with Corporate SME’s and other Region C&B specialists as and when required
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT:
- Supports and actively promotes Company’s program of performance management and coaching opportunities including but not limited to: Performance management, succession planning, talent assessments
- Supervisors and Managers should collaborate with Human Resources & Training and Development to drive strategies for the recruitment and retention of key personnel and to foster an environment that supports the attraction and retention of a high performing talented workforce
Experience & Education
REQUIRED
- Strong technical knowledge of compensation and benefit programs in industrial sectors, oil & gas, petro-chemical, construction
- Significant knowledge of 401k and medical coverage programs
- Significant experience in market compensation analysis, understanding of job architecture and role analysis
- Minimum 10 years experience in C&B, minimum 5 in senior/supervisory capacity
- Good understanding of project schedules and experiencing of delivering successful projects across multiple entities
- Degree/certificate in a business related field is advantageous
- Exceptional collaboration, leadership & team building skills
- Strong communications, listening and influencing skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Experienced in reviewing commercial proposals from vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP and Power BI
Travel Requirements
- The role will require some travel to meet leadership, management and employees around the Region
- Expectation is approximately 20% travel is required
