As a (Senior) Manager Contract Risk Management (m/f/d), you are responsible, within the framework of an overarching risk management system, for assessing and, where necessary, mitigating technical and commercial risks of projects and service/framework contracts that exceed defined threshold values — both during the bid and negotiation phases and throughout the execution phase of awarded contracts. You support the Stage‑Gate process, conduct risk analyses, and collaborate closely with relevant Corporate Functions and operational units to ensure effective project oversight and governance.
Your main tasks:
Governance and Reporting
- Definition and maintenance of risk classification standards and Group‑wide minimum requirements for bids in collaboration with Group Legal and Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with and governance of the Stage‑Gate process, including reporting to segment leadership or the Executive Board
- Contribution to the further development of project standards and tools (including Procon database)
- Preparation of quarterly reports on tenders and contract execution status
- Participation in due‑diligence reviews and preparation of ad‑hoc risk reports for M&A processes
Involvement and Participation in the bid phase
- Early assessment of contractual risks and opportunities for bids exceeding defined thresholds
- Independent review of bids in accordance with the Group Standards and reporting to the responsible management levels
Continuous Project Controlling
- Monitoring contract execution for project, service, and framework agreements with a focus on cost, schedule, quality, and risk
- Early identification of deviations and proactive communication with relevant stakeholders
- Support in the development and implementation of risk mitigation measures
- Collaborate closely with Group Controlling and Project Audit to ensure data quality and address audit recommendations early
Our requirements:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in project management, project controlling, and auditing
- Strong expertise in technical and commercial project management, including project and contract controlling, as well as a good knowledge of project‑related risks and opportunities with the ability to provide precise assessments and recommendations
- Desirable certifications: Project Management (e.g., PMI) or Auditing (e.g., CIA, CISA)
- SAP experience is an advantage
- Excellent analytical skills paired with a structured and solution-oriented working style
- Proven ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and international teams
- Business‑fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
