Bilfinger is seeking an international leader to bring our high standard in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) to the next level across our global operations. This is a high-impact role for a forward-thinking professional ready to shape the future of industrial services -where HSEQ is not just a function, but a strategic enabler of sustainable success.
Your Mission
- Shape the Future: Together with the HR & HSEQ Leadership team, design and execute a forward-looking HSEQ strategy and safety culture that translates business goals into impactful, sustainable outcomes.
- Drive Digital Innovation: Champion the evolution of HSEQ systems and tools through cutting-edge digital solutions that reduce risk and boost performance.
- Lead with Purpose: Own the governance of global HSEQ standards and tools (e.g., ACTIVE, SOPs), ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across all levels.
- Build Resilience: Develop robust frameworks for assurance, control, and risk management—focusing on learning, root cause analysis, and proactive improvement.
- Empower with Data: Establish transparent, data-driven reporting systems that inform decisions and elevate accountability.
- Collaborate & Influence: Engage with the Bilfinger Safety Council, Executive Management, and segment leaders to align and amplify group-wide HSEQ initiatives.
- Inspire Change: Functionally head an international team of HSEQ leaders with a culture of empowerment, innovation, and excellence.
- Demonstrate leadership and drive: Lead our teams through a safety improvement program of cultural change. Modernise our approach to HSE beyond existing process/procedures and track lagging indicators. Develop leading indicators and the right KPIs.
- Workforce Engagement: Engage our workforce in a behavioural safety program that focusses on employee wellbeing, positive interventions and a proactive team culture.
Your Profile
- Educational background in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HSEQ or operational leadership role, ideally within industrial, engineering, or energy sectors.
- Additional certifications in HSEQ management, sustainability, or risk governance are a strong advantage.
- Deep expertise in HSEQ regulations, occupational health and safety, and environmental science, with a strong grasp of industry standards and best practices.
- Experience and understanding of human factors and behaviour-based safety. Expertise in building teams and fostering a strong proactive safety culture.
- Proficiency in analysing data and evaluating risks, enabling informed decision-making.
- Ability to design and implement impactful HSEQ strategies that align with broader business goals.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong relationship builder with the ability to foster meaningful internal and external partnerships.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and motivating large, diverse teams to achieve excellence.
