Bilfinger is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team on a 3 month temporary basis that will have a key role in supporting Bilfinger’s business strategy by providing proactive, commercially focused HR support to managers and employees across business areas.

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide support and direction to employees and managers in respective business areas to allow the business to best utilise its employees contributions to the business. Specifically, this will be in the areas of employee relations including complex disciplinary and grievance cases and redundancy where applicable
  • Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with Bilfinger’s values;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with trade unions, local, regional and national, other contractor teams, and other external and internal stakeholders to foster a stable and collaborative industrial relations (IR) environment within the assigned business areas;
  • Drive early resolution of issues at operational level through collaborative IR practice,
  • Provide advice and guidance on matters such as policy interpretation and application, employment law, employee relations, organisational design, performance issues, leadership, management practices and information on the use of relevant support service providers.

  

Essential Skills & Experience

 

  • Strong understanding of employment law, knowledge of trade union frameworks and HR/IR best practices
  • Experience in working with trade unions, including building and maintaining effective relationships with union representatives
  • The ability to negotiate, implement and manage collective agreements and other workforce arrangements
  • Proven experience in employee relations, including managing complex grievances, disciplinaries, capability processes and performance issues
  • Knowledge of industrial relations (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with a diverse and transient workforce
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially minded and solutions-focused
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • CIPD qualification level 5 or above, or equivalent experience (desirable)
