A Materials Coordinator manages the flow of supplies, overseeing inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution to ensure projects and production have needed materials, acting as a key liaison between departments (like procurement, warehouse, production) and external suppliers to maintain stock levels and track logistics, often using ERP systems for documentation and reporting. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock, maintain accurate records, perform counts, manage levels, and handle scrap.
  • Procurement Support: Place orders, liaise with vendors for timely deliveries, and build supplier relationships.
  • Logistics & Distribution: Coordinate material movement, schedule deliveries, and allocate stock to specific workstations or projects.
  • Project Support: Ensure materials are available for project schedules, process shortage requests, and manage returns.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain inventory systems (ERP), track material status, and prepare reports for management.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal, adhering to company HSE policies. 
 
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, or materials management.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with inventory/ERP software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Potentially a degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
