Rope Access (Level 1-3) Gulf of Mexico Platforms- Offshore
Position Summary:
Bilfinger is a leading international services contractor with a proven track record in providing integrated, multi-disciplined support services and maintenance solutions to international blue-chip clients, primarily in the energy, petrochemical, industrial, and utilities sector. We are currently recruiting for multi-disciplined candidates with Rope Access Level 1- 3. These positions require an experienced, self-motivated, safety-conscious individuals. The optimal candidate will have a basic working knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines. Work locations may vary (offshore).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must have good communication and network skills
- Must have good teamwork skills, ability to coordinate with different department heads within the company.
- Preferably to have a strong background in the Pipeline, Petrochemical and/or Oil & Gas Market Sectors
- Must have ability to perform various technical services while working on ropes.
- SPRAT Rope Access Level 1, 2 or 3 certifications
- NDT level 2 Certifications are a plus
- Offshore Experience Required

- Safe Gulf
- Responsible for the immediate supervision, implementation, and oversight of the rope access program at the work site
- Communicate and coordinate with clients and their safety representatives regarding rope access safety and rescue procedures
- Ensure that all procedures are understood prior to the start of work
- Complete all required planning, safety meetings and documentation, including work permits, job hazard analyses, safety meetings and rescue plans
- Ensure that the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used
- Identify work zones and ensure the safety of any personnel or public who may enter these zones.
- Make certain that a prompt rescue of rope access personnel can be accomplished and that emergency services are available
- Make certain that all equipment on the work site is protected from damage and is maintained in a safe condition throughout the work
- Ensure that any rope access equipment that is damaged at the work site is removed from service
- Mentor junior employees in rope access and working procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Climbing - frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms up in excess of heights of 100 feet.
- Balancing - maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Stooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- Pushing - using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
- Pulling - using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting - raising objects in excess of 100 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
- Fine Manipulation – picking or pinching or otherwise working hands and fingers
- Able to perform very heavy work (exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move object
