What is the content of the job:
As an (in-house) lawyer, you are looking for an opportunity to combine your built up expertise and know-how with commercial instincts. You have an interest in or affinity for technical industries. Look no further; this job has your name on it! 

  • As a legal counsel at Bilfinger Tebodin, you will actively support your technical and commercial colleagues in the acquisition and execution of projects. You will advise the board of directors and general management on legal and contractual risks. You will draft, review, negotiate and manage various contracts for engineered products (consultancy, design and engineering, EPCM, EPC) and you will take part in other complex and challenging projects within our industries as well. You will negotiate and advise on bid agreements, cooperation agreements, memoranda of understanding and similar agreements and documents.
  • In addition, you will advise on corporate matters where necessary and you will handle some corporate housekeeping tasks for the legal entities within our group.
  • You are not just a lawyer; you are a partner to our business. As a commercial lawyer with true business sense, you are well informed on the essential business targets  developments in our markets.
  • You will work for our industries such as energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, chemical, industrial, food & pharma.
  • You will put your business sense to use, always keeping the commercial opportunities for Bilfinger Tebodin in sight while at the same time spotting and limiting possible legal risks.
  • You are a business enabler and sparring partner for the business in innovative projects. Your opinion matters.
  • You will play a role in professional contract, claim and conflict management, in and outside the law.
  • You’ll advise on and handle legal disputes in cooperation with regional management
  • You will contribute to secure a healthy legal climate, develop and implement (new) standards, and facilitate trainings. 


What do you have to offer:

  • You have a master degree in Dutch law.
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience as a (in-house) lawyer. Experience in an engineering or construction company or with a law firm dealing with (engineering) transactions in our industries is a big advantage.
  • You have knowledge on company law and the various corporate housekeeping tasks.
  • You are a strong communicator; both in Dutch as in English, both verbally as well as written. 
  • You have well-developed commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • You are highly motivated and business oriented
  • You have thorough experience and knowledge of (international) contract law and (technical) construction law (i.e. consortium agreements, joint ventures, contracts for work, international standards, such as FIDIC etc).
  • Preferably, you have knowledge of and experience with branch standards for Employer- Engineering/Consultancy contracts, such as RVOI and DNR.
  • You have strong analytical skills and have a good sense of how the business is run and organized.
  • You are an assertive person of trust with role model character and a high degree of integrity; strong advisory expertise and personal initiative

  • A monthly gross salary between € 5.000 and € 5.500 based on a full time working week and depending on your background and experience.
  • 8% Holiday allowance, calculated over your gross annual salary.
