Welder Qualification testing

Welder Qualification testing:

 

Location: Bilfinger UK Limited, West Carr fabrication facility, Hull, HU7 0BS.

 

Intro:

We currently looking to commence with Welder qualification testing for our new fabrication facility in Hull, East Yorkshire, and invite Welders to apply for testing, please note we are looking for  local trades personnel within the Hull area and payment will not be made for the individual’s time spent completing the tests.

 

Welder testing is likely to take three days to complete the mandatory test pieces indicated below;

 

Outlined below are the welder qualification tests required for the project, 14 tests in total to cover both Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel.

 

Carbon Steel (to be welded with FM 3 filler material)

½” Schedule 40 (21.34 x 2.77mm) GTAW, 3 off test pieces per welder

2” Schedule 160 (60.33 x 8.74mm) GTAW, 1 off test piece per welder

6” Schedule 160 (168.28 x 18.25mm) GTAW / SMAW, 1 off test piece per welder

 

Supplementary fillet weld test, 10mm thick Carbon Steel plate (to be welded with FM 3 filler material)

 

PB position (down hand) all GTAW, (multi run fillet weld to comply with requirements of RCCC-M code) side 1

PB position (down hand) all SMAW, (multi run fillet weld to comply with requirements of RCCC-M code) side 2

 

Stainless Steel

½“Schedule 10s (21.34 x 2.11mm) GTAW, 3 off test pieces per welder

2” Schedule 160 (60.33 x 8.74mm) GTAW, 1 off test piece per welder

6” Schedule 120 (168.28 x 14.27mm) GTAW / SMAW, 1 off test piece per welder

 

Supplementary fillet weld test, 10mm thick stainless steel plate (to be welded with stainless steel filler material)

 

PB position (down hand) all GTAW, (multi run fillet weld to comply with requirements of RCCC-M code) side 1

PB position (down hand) all SMAW, (multi run fillet weld to comply with requirements of RCCC-M code) side 2

 

Final Comments:

 

Please note for Welder qualification testing, Bilfinger will not offer any payment or expenses for the time to complete these tests, however, if subsequently offered a position in the future, a payment for the tests in their first wage would be processed.
