Minimum Qualifications :


Education and Certifications:
•Associates’ Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
•A+ Certification preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


•Two years experience in general IT support and troubleshooting preferred
•Two years experience in installing, configuring, and supporting Windows Operating Systems preferred
•Two years experience in installing, configuring, and supporting MS Office preferred
•Two years experience in installing, configuring, and supporting PC desktop and notebook hardware and peripherals (e.g. scanners, printers, PDAs) preferred
•Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within an MSWindows/Intel PC networked environment
•Experience supporting Antivrus software and resolving computer virus problems
•Experience with installing, configuring and supporting Internet/Intranet Applications preferred
•Experience supporting PCs and peripherals in TCP/IP networked environment preferred
•Experience supporting PCs and peripherals in Windows Network environment preferred
•Experience installing, configuring and supporting MS Outlook with Exchange preferred
•Experience supporting construction company applications such as design software (Autocad,Visio), and estimating software (WinEst, Joc Works, E4 Clicks) preferred

•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC support issues remotely
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
•Travel required: approximately one overnight trip per month and two to three trips of three to four days per year

 

Scope of Responsibility:
Primary responsibility is to provide timely IT support to end users on a variety of hardware and software issues nationally.

 

Position Duties:
• Resolves, records, tracks and monitors IT support requests from end users nationally. Tracks and monitors the problem to insure a timely resolution
• Installs and configures workstations and peripherals
• Coordinates IT support with IT contacts at remote sites
• Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots first level and some second level hardware and software problems pertaining to local area network (LAN). Recommends and schedules repairs. Provides end user support for all LAN based applications
• Assists in the administrative support of the IT Department: orders equipment and supplies, maintains appropriate records and files
• Assists in improving IT support processes and procedures
• Provides first and some second level support for hardware and software for PC desktops, notebooks and peripherals
• Provides input to PC hardware and software standards and strategy for the firm
• Tests new PC and peripheral hardware software and configurations
• Assists in planning updates and rollout of new technology of PC and peripheral hardware and software
• Documents installation and configuration of PC and peripheral hardware and software
• Provides input in documentation and implementation of best practices, policies and procedures in IT department
• Assists in computer back-up program

• Assists Network Manager with entry level networking administration and troubleshooting (e.g. user account maintenance, installing printers, file structure security and maintenance)
• Assists in auditing and maintaining PC hardware, software, and peripheral standards nationally
