Quality Assurance Engineer 

Location: reading

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for conducting internal audits, in accordance with the published project audit programme, and produce reports in relation to audit outcomes.
  • Responsible for the provision of Quality related advice and guidance to the Project
  • Responsible for liaising with Project Quality Control inspectors to provide assurance that all Hold Points/ Witness Points are met in a compliant manner. 
  • Responsible for validating the implementation and effectiveness of Project corrective actions resulting from internal/ external audits.
  • To promote a safety-first culture, conducting walk rounds and intervening constructively to highlight or challenge unsafe or perceived unsafe actions.
  • Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against agreed KPIs
  • Prepare and review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and supporting QA documentation
  • Liaise with all relevant Project stakeholders in relation to the preparation and submission of Project quality requirements and supporting documentation 
  • Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client’s QA departments
  • Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the Company
     

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • Demonstrable, current knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in nuclear or civil construction.
  • Problem Resolution-Must have a good grasp of problem resolution tools and techniques and the ability to articulate their use in a given situation.
  • Development of project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs etc) and review of supplier QA documentation.
  • Must have a full understanding on how to deliver internal audits of management systems and be able to communicate outcomes.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques
  • The ability to understand and interpret ISO Management System Standards, technical drawings and specifications is desirable.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands whilst meeting agreed targets.
  • Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • +3 years’ experience working in a highly regulated industry (Nuclear/Oil & Gas/Aviation, Construction)
  • Recognised and current Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015) (Essential)
  • Minimum ONC/HNC in an Engineering discipline (Desirable)
  • Associate or Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute or can demonstrate working towards it (Desirable)
  • Current security clearance (SC) (Desirable)
  • Current CSCS Card (Desirable)
