Reporting to the Commercial Director and working as part of the wider Commercial Team, this role supports the Offshore and Inspection Business Units, providing leadership and direction as the Business Development Manager. This role is heavily involved in developing and supporting the business strategic direction, focussed on client relationships and supporting the Tendering function from tender inception through to handover, while at all times complying with Bilfinger UK governance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the overall tender process to obtain maximum efficiency, quality and success in the compilation of winning tenders
• Effective liaison, support and assistance between tender team and other departments involved in tenders
- Support the writing of tender proposals including Technical responses as required
• Manage the implementation of responsibility matrices and plans to achieve key targets
• Build and implement action plans in support of the business strategy for Offshore Services and Inspection Business Units
• Lead face to face client engagement sessions wherever possible
• Prepare effective proposals and presentations on business opportunities
• Analyse existing and potential target markets to identify growth areas
• Assist in the development and preparation of the business strategy and planning
• Prepare and implement key client pursuit plans
• Build strong relationships with existing and target clients for chosen target markets
• Assist marketing in activities that promote the Bilfinger UK profile
• Support the business development efforts on services, products and technologies
• Support the tender and proposals team with commitment and strong project management
• Assist commercial in creating models that align with client requirements
• Translate the client experience/lessons learned into tender improvement opportunities
• Manage and obtain feedback on tenders and proposals for improvement areas
• Active involvement in special projects with leadership team e.g. acquisitions, Bilfinger Inspection Concept etc
Experience and Qualifications
• Ability to build thorough knowledge of technology/technical aspects and client requirements relating to Bilfinger capabilities and differentiators.
• Active link between business development, tenders and transition into operation.
• Proven ability to coach and develop others
• Aptitude for tender process management and customer relationship management
• Leadership with ability to drive a tender process team
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Good leadership/negotiation and engagement skills to encourage those involved with each stage in the process.
• Possess a creative way of thinking.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills
