The Role:

The QA/QC Lead is responsible for providing quality management and control to the projects, regarding quality assurance, quality control, and audit processes, whilst supporting day to day operations for quality awareness to the project.

 

You will managing quality assurance, document control and system resources required to provide effective support to the projects and ensure that quality systems are established / managed across the projects & communicated to stakeholders. You are required to proactively promoting ‘right first time’ methodology across the business to reduce non-conformances within the project environment and collaboratively work with HSE team within the projects to deliver safety awareness.

 

You will ensure that quality control systems are established, communicated, applied and remain effective to provide ‘right first time’ products and services to satisfy business and customer expectations, ensuring quality, reliability and performance standards are maintained and to support and manage necessary QA/QC resource in projects.

 

Key Activities: (but not limited to)

Responsible for the provision of overall Quality management to the Projects

 

  • To ensure full utilisation of internal reporting systems to capture all quality related data, such as audit findings, non-conformities, observations, improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for creation of project audit schedules, conducting audits and producing audit reports.
  • Total overall responsibility of NCR management for project related defects and non-specification adherence
  • Creation/preparation of Quality Plans, reviewing and acceptance of sub-contractors & suppliers Quality plans.
  • Management of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) and supporting QA documentation.
  • Responsible for liaising with Project Quality Control inspectors to provide assurance that all Hold Points/ Witness Points are met in accordance of ITP’s/Specifications & Client requirements.
  • Responsible for managing and validating the implementation and effectiveness of Project corrective actions resulting from any non-conformances, including internal / external audits.
  • To promote a Right first time approach to quality and Safety.
  • Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against agreed objectives & KPIs
  • Oversee quality operations to ensure all documentation and specifications are adhered to.
  • Management of Client quality requirements and the implementation of them within the scope of works.
  • Ensure subcontractors / Suppliers conform to the company and project requirements through an auditing process 
  • Liaise with all relevant Project stakeholders in relation to the preparation and submission of Project quality requirements and supporting documentation
  • Liaise with Client’s QA departments to ensure transparency and open communication
  • Actively promote and encourage a Continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Work Collaboratively between all project functions & departments 

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Extensive Quality Assurance background 
  • Recognised and current Internal Auditor qualification IRCA – Essential
  • Recognised quality qualification/certification (CQI) - Essential
  • Good Understanding of Engineering Documentation.
  • Development of project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs etc)
  • To be able to review & sign off supplier QA documentation. (Certifications – Databooks)
  • Pipework, steelwork and insulation knowledge – Desirable
  • Demonstrable, current knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in a regulated environment within the Energy markets i.e (Oil & Gas, petrochemical, aerospace construction.
  • Problem Resolution- Must have exceptional skills to problem solving and have resolution tools and techniques and the ability to articulate their use in any given situation.
  • Must have a full understanding on how to deliver internal/external audits of management systems and be able to communicate outcomes.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques
  • The ability to understand and interpret ISO Management System Standards, technical drawings and specifications is desirable.
  • Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Good understanding of ISO 45001 & 14001.
  • +5 years’ experience working in a highly regulated industry (petrochemical /Oil & Gas/Aviation, Construction)
  • Detailed knowledge of related specifications (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, PED, etc.) is Advantageous
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Full clean driving licence & willingness to travel to multiple sites
